The United Nations African Institute
for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) and the African Finance and
Economics Association (AFEA) have made a strategic decision to jointly
promote and facilitate active collaboration between African researchers
in the Diaspora and those based in Africa. Consequently, IDEP and AFEA
sponsored and organized their first joint conference on "NEPAD and
the future of Economic Policy in Africa" in November 2005. A volume
by the same title is forthcoming from Africa World Press in 2007. Now,
AFEA and IDEP are ready to announce their second conference on economic
policy in Africa. The theme of this conference is: "Sector-led
Growth in Africa and Implications for Development." The Conference
will be held November 8-11, 2007 in Dakar, Senegal. |
