The Future of Economic Policy Making by Left-of-Center Governments in Latin America: Old Wine in New Bottles?

Given the recent prevalence of left-of-center governments in Latin America, this article tries to assess first, how different their economic policies are compared to the orthodox ones of their predecessors, and second, the influence and constraints imposed on these economic policies by the global outlook, the imbalances of the world economy, and the international financial markets.
