Agricultural Market Access
Database
This site maintains a dataset on tariffs, Tariff Rate
Quotas (TRQs) and imports of agricultural products for
a number of WTO Member countries. The database includes
mainly raw data on market access commitments and trade,
as found in WTO members' commitments and in national
publications, at the level of detail and disaggregation
found in the original sources. However, additional reference
data are also provided to enable the user to calculate
derived data such as ad valorem equivalents, or tariff
aggregates for product or commodity categories.

which actively campaigns for the incorporation of poverty

UC Atlas of Global
Inequality
A project of the Center for Global, International and
Regional Studies (CGIRS) at the University of California,
Santa Cruz, the UC Atlas of Global Inequality explores
the interaction between globalisation and inequality,
and provides online, downloadable maps, graphics and
data. Apart from providing descriptions and data on
the variables used for measuring globalisation, distribution
of global income, income inequality, global connectedness,
etc., the site also provides brief discussions as well
as some useful links and references to the global income
inequality debate, the relationship between growth,
income inequality and well being, etc. All these materials,
which may be of use to researchers and activists, can
be used freely provided they are attributed to the UC

Trade Analysis and Information System (TRAINS) Database
This database, maintained by UNCTAD, provides Trade
Control Measures (Tariff, para-tariff and Non-Tariff
Measures) information at tariff line level for 119 countries.
It also covers imports by suppliers at 6-digit level
of the International Convention on the Harmonized Commodity
Description and Coding System (HS) covering more than
85% of the world trade. This database is one of the
most comprehensive database on Non-Tariff Measures currently
available. UNRISD
The official website of the United Nations Institute
for Social Development, an autonomous UN agency engaged
in multidisciplinary research on the social dimensions
of economic development. Available on the website are
quality research papers on issues of pressing importance
to development economists such as the links between
racism and public policy.
WORLD
DEVELOPMENT MOVEMENT
This small organisation based in Britain is at the forefront
of the worldwide movement against GATS or the General
Agreement on Trade in Services and for the cancellation
of Third World Debt. There's a wealth of information
